As a new/pregnant mum, you need to prepare for your recovery in the weeks after having a baby and giving birth.
You will be quite sore and tender in your vaginal/ perineal area!
If you’re thinking about self-care after baby, great! It can be easy to get so preoccupied in planning for the baby that you neglect to plan for your own healing and recovery.
Postpartum healing will require a few different tools to help soothe the pain, reduce swelling and offer some relief to any tears, stitched areas, or swollen.
Postpartum ice packs reduce swelling and soothe sore and tender areas — helping you feel more comfortable in the days after childbirth, so you can enjoy time with your newborn! There are major benefits to using ice packs specifically designed for postpartum women.
Even after a vaginal birth without tears, the entire perineal area and rectum will be swollen after birth, and you'll likely feel discomfort in the area for around three to five weeks.
After pushing baby, no matter how long for, you will be a bit swollen. If you need any stitches or have torn, chances are you will be a bit sore and experience perineum discomfort for even longer. Our peri gel pads can really assist in offering some relief.
Perineal cool pads are an essential for use postpartum to cool and soothe your perineum and help any postpartum soreness you may experience.
When the perineum gel pad is heated, it can be also used while in the second stage of labour to reduce perineal tears when pressed against the perineal area (ask your medical team if you're unsure how to correctly apply)
When frozen, the perineal ice pack provides soothing, cooling relief to the perineal area which may be irritated, swollen and tender from childbirth
The perineal ice pack can also be used to give instant relief from vaginal irritations and inflamed haemorrhoids, or to treat Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD).
The pack can be heated or cooled.
Please note that design of the packs may differ slightly depending on current stock level.
Each pack comes with a one perineum ice/heat pack and 5 x disposable covers.
Use the sleeves provided and do not apply the packs directly to the skin.
To clean, wash with warm soapy water.

Gives soothing and calming experience down there. With tear and specially its summer time here, so it gives me a good relief from the humid weather as it could get real messy.

Came it handy to ice below, works well as just an ice pack after wards

These were amazing for my recovery. I had a forceps delivery with episiotomy and very bad haemorrhoids and these were a lifesaver. You really don’t need the sleeves, just pop on a second pair of underwear and slip these into the second pair under your maternity pad. Much less mess on the peri ice strip.
I also had some other brands and found that the beads in this one moulded much better than a solid gel and they also seemed to come out colder.

Had to buy more no Lint purpose towels to put in between ice pack and perineum. However, this reusable ice pack works wonders and is perfect size and shape. I had a very bad episiotomy and tear and had ice on all the time. Recommend to buy 2 to ensure you always have a ready to use ice pack
